Generate my week

Fill the week from the recipes in your vault, using your household's preferences.

Generate my week plans meals from recipes already saved in your vault. It never invents recipes.

Turn it on (household admin)

  1. Go to Settings > Household and find Fill the week automatically.

  2. Choose Enable auto-generate.

  3. Set the defaults: meals per week for each section, which sections to plan, how many weeks to avoid repeats, and whether to Pair a side dish with each meal, Favor quick meals, Favor kid-friendly recipes or Favor what's on sale. You can also set a maximum total time. Diets and foods to never include come from Diets and allergies on the same tab, and the week leaves out recipes that don't fit them.

Until it's on, the button tells you to ask a household admin.

Generate a week

  1. On Meal plans, choose Generate my week. If the week already has meals it reads Regenerate week.

  2. Choose Fill empty slots to keep what's there, or Replace the week to start over. Meals marked as no meal planned and meals already cooked stay put.

  3. Add a Special request (optional), like "more vegetarian nights".

  4. Choose Generate. You can leave the page, and the household is notified when it's done.

The Generate my week dialog

A household can generate 5 times in any 7 days. The dialog shows how many are left.

Tag side dishes as "side" so the side-dish option can use them. If you connected a grocery store, Favor what's on sale leans toward recipes that use this week's sale items.
