Choose Add recipe in the sidebar (or the round + on a phone). There are five ways in.

Import from a link
Copy the recipe's web address from your browser.
Paste it under Import from URL and choose Import.
You'll see Fetching recipe page..., then Reading the recipe..., then Saving recipe.... The recipe opens when it's saved.
The title, ingredients, steps, times, servings and photo come across. If your household already saved that link, you'll get Open it or Import a copy anyway instead of a duplicate.
Most recipe sites import without using your AI allowance. See Plans, the Premium trial and billing for when an import counts.
Extract from a photo (Premium)
Choose Extract from a photo.
Use Take photo for a cookbook page or recipe card, or Upload image for a picture you already have.
Choose Read recipe from photo, check what it found, then Use this recipe. Try different photo starts over.
Import from Instagram or TikTok
Choose Import from Instagram or Import from TikTok. Paste the post's link on the URL tab, paste the caption on the Caption tab, or upload a picture on the Screenshot tab. Then choose Pull out the recipe and Use this recipe. Each social import uses one AI import from your allowance.
Type it in yourself
Choose Type it in yourself to open a blank recipe. Fill in Basic information, use Add ingredient and Add step, and add a Timer (minutes) to any step you want a timer on in cook mode. Tags, equipment and Private notes are optional. Choose Save recipe when you're done.

Fix anything after saving
Open the recipe and choose the pencil icon to edit it. Only admins and editors can add or change recipes.
Free plan limit
A household on Free can keep 50 recipes. Archived recipes don't count.
